Description of this Book
When Spencer Fogle hears blood-curdling screams on his way home from school, he doesn't realise he is about to become embroiled in a dark plot hatched by the richest man in town, Jimmy Jangle. But what is Jangle planning exactly? All Spencer knows is that it involves carnivorous plants, genetically engineered flies, and a mysterious file called The Fly Papers ...and could that suspicious girl at school, Tora de Ronde, have anything to do with it?

Author's Bio
Johanna Knox has published many short stories for children and adults. She also reviews books, writes magazine articles (often about plants or food), helps develop museum exhibitions, and has had a regular slot on Radio New Zealand's This Way Up, chatting about foraging for wild food. She and her family have collected carnivorous plants for eight years, although their collection is small compared to those of many carnivorous plant enthusiasts they know! Sabrina Malcolm had an early interest in drawing and the natural world that led to a Bachelor of Science, then a Diploma in Visual Communication. Following a stint as an illustrator and graphic designer, she completed a Master of Design majoring in illustration in 2009. Her work for children includes the illustrations for the picture book Koro's Medicine (a finalist in the 2005 NZ Post Children's Book Awards) and a wordless picture book which won a Gold Award at the 2010 BeST Design Awards. She has an enduring fascination with carnivorous plants.
