Description of this Book

Cuzzie and Bro is the adventure story of twin piglets born in a litter of ten, on a farm bordering Te Urewera National Park. The tiny piglets are trampled by their siblings in a fight for food, so Mrs Tama, the farmer's wife, must hand rear the undersized and weak twins. Life on the farm with their barnyard friends and playful schoolchildren is idyllic. That is, until something tragic happens and Bro dies. In time, peace resumes but one fateful day, Cuzzie is lured into the mountains by the Patupaiarehe, the fairies of the Maori people. Now he must learn rules of survival in the wild, a life that at first terrifies him, yet in time, rewards him with more than he could ever hope for. Cuzzie and Bro cleverly combines fact with fiction; the everyday life on a working farm, loyalties and responsibilities towards friends, and the magical fantasy world that Cuzzie encounters in a cloud forest on the mountain.
