Author's Bio
Witi Ihimaera is one of New Zealand's most successful novelists. He was the first Maori writer to publish a book of short stories and a novel, and is a successful playwright and librettist. Witi also has the distinction of being a three time winner of the Wattie/Montana Book of the Year Award with Tangi (1973), The Matriarch (1986) and Bulibasha: King of the Gypsies (1994).
