Description of this Book
Peter Blake was one of New Zealand's great modern heroes. In a life packed with competitive sailing, he circled the world many times, covered as many sea miles as any sailor in history, led us to America's Cup victory (twice!), and gave his last years (and ultimately his life) to saving the environment. Award-winning author Tessa Duder here tells Sir Peter's gripping story for junior readers, with action stories and insights into the life of a great sailor - his courage, sense of fun and, above all, leadership. The book also has fascinating boxes backgrounding sailing skills, the America's Cup and other key points. Fully illustrated with photos from his life (including 8 pages of colour), and reviewed by the Blake family.
