Description of this Book
A wacky and witty creation, Stew a Cockatoo is the ultimate Australian cook book for kids and you'd be a flamin' galah to miss it! Not only is this book jam-packed (no pun intended) with good ol' Aussie recipes but it's full of anecdotal stories about how our cuisine came to be and fair dinkum definitions for words and phrases like bush tucker' and spuds'.

Author's Bio
Ruthie May has been baking scones and burning snags from a very young age. The Edna Split was her first ever made-up recipe. She likes experimenting with ingredients and thinks there is no cuisine quite like Australian cuisine. Stew a Cockatoo is Ruthie's second book for children. Leigh Hobbs' latest picture book, Mr Chicken Goes to Paris, was one of the best-selling children's picture books of 2009 and explores his love of Paris and all things French. In Stew a Cockatoo Hobbs returns to all things Australian and has produced over 100 witty illustrations to bring to life the culinary delights, recipes and stories that have come to shape what we know as Aussie tucker.
