Description of this Movie
Great Natural Wonders. Explore some of the world's Great Natural Wonders which are increasingly under pressure from global warming, population increase and commercial activity. Erupting volcanoes are some of the most dramatic sights of the natural world, as Megan McCormick discovers on her trips to Java and Hawaii. Ian Wright learns about the consequences of climate change in the Arctic, whilst Justine Shapiro hikes one of the world's most spectacular glaciers, the Perito Moreno in Patagonia. Endangered Places. Explore some of our most Endangered Places and ask what we can all do to help the world we live in. Justine Shapiro, Ian Wright and other intrepid presenters take us from the beautiful city of Venice, slowly sinking for the past 1,000 years, to a glacier melting into the sea in Antarctica and to the Nevada Desert where A bombs were tested in the 1950s. Then travel to the ancient Turkish town of Hasankeyf before it is sunk under the River Tigris as part of plans for a new dam and see the impact of the tourism invasion every year in Algarve.
