Johanna Knox has published many short stories for children and adults. She also reviews books, writes magazine articles (often about plants or food), helps develop museum exhibitions, and has had a regular slot on Radio New Zealand's This Way Up, chatting about foraging for wild food. Following a stint as an illustrator and graphic designer, she completed a Master of Design majoring in illustration in 2009. Her work for children includes the illustrations for the picture book Koro's Medicine (a finalist in the 2005 NZ Post Children's Book Awards) and a wordless picture book which won a Gold Award at the 2010 BeST Design Awards. She has an enduring fascination with carnivorous plants.
