Description of this Book
Gorgeously illustrated Scary Tales - Rhymes for Brave Children is packed with slightly scary nursery rhymes that are sure to delight children of all ages. Even parents will laugh out loud. This fabulously funny collection contains familiar rhymes that have been fractured and reshaped into something quirky and ever so slightly spooky. In this book you'll find Mary doesn't have a little lamb - she has a little ghost; Little Miss Muffet is now a sassy witch and Humpty Dumpty becomes a little Frankenstein. Even the classic Old MacDonald had a Farm hasn't escaped a revamp. Along with the familiar rhymes are new ones that are sure to become favourites like, My Dog Turned into a Vampire and Liar, Liar. And to top if off there's a Did you know?, Ghastly Jokes and Acitivities section where children can learn interesting facts about the characters featured in the rhymes, and drive their parents nuts with the jokes and games.
Awards, Reviews & Star Ratings
||I think it's a very successful book because it is so funny. Children like reading about ghosts and ghouls and witches. - Jeremy 8; I liked it because the poems aren't normal, but silly in a good way. Witch with a Twitch is the best poem I've ever had. - Flynn 6; I liked that the poems were surprising. The drawings are really cool and go with the funny poems. - Ashton 7
