Toby Morris is an illustrator, designer, art director and comic artist recently returned to New Zealand after 9 years of living and working in Melbourne and Amsterdam. He made his start by drawing and self publishing comics from the age of 13 and currently works as an advertising art director by day and an illustrator at night - drawing everything from comics, t-shirts, editorial work and concert posters for New Zealand bands like Liam Finn, Phoenix Foundation, Beastwars, Connan Mockasin and many more.
In 2009 he published a book of 350 drawings called 'Alledaags: A Year In Amsterdam' and this year will see the release of a follow up called 'Don't Puke On Your Dad: A Year in the Life of New Father'.
Toby's style has roots in the clear line school of comics, but in more recent years has evolved into a looser and simpler but still very graphic look. As an artist who switches daily between a wide variety of personal and commercial projects in design and illustration, he is a versatile artist, comfortable with many mediums and techniques.
