While Michael takes Thomas for a holiday on Groote Eylandt, Patricia visits her mother in New York. When the plane carrying Michael and Thomas disappears over Arnhem Land, and the air search is cancelled because of the monsoon, Patricia must search the vast land on foot. But there are strangers in Arnhem Land. A boat load of wildlife poachers, and a group of terrorist who have entered Arnhem Land as a back door into Australia.
