Description of this Book

With this publication the author has added a third title to those written in 2012 but, unlike the previous two, 'From Superfluous Man to Superman' and 'Philosophic Flights of Poetic Fancy', this project has not had any of its contents published in prior blog format, having been written on a fairly consistent basis during the last three months of 2012 with a view to the production of a literary journal that would not only be independent of the blogging medium but a kind of parallel, if on somewhat antithetical terms, to his first literary journal, 'Limits', back in 1976. Here, by contrast, there are few if any limitations, and even the journalistic form is stretched to incorporate, besides autobiographical and philosophical elements, a sort of intermittent travelogue featuring a number of towns in Co. Galway, the Republic of Ireland, that subsequently became the focal-point of much of the subject-matter of this exceptional book.

Author's Bio

John O'Loughlin is a London-based author who was born in Ireland of an English mother and grew up first in Hampshire and then in Surrey, where he attended a variety of state schools. Most of his adult life has been spent at different addresses in the London Borough of Haringey, north of the River Thames, to which he moved from Surrey in 1974, and all but a few of his books have been written there, the majority of which, like this one, are of an intensely philosophical not to say metaphysical and even ideological nature.
