Author's Bio

Jane Austen (1775-1817) is often referred to as the world's premier female novelist. She is known for her brilliant satire and detailed insights to everyday life for the women of the Regency period. Anna Massey received a Tony nomination for The Reluctant Debutante in 1955 at the age of 18. She was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1983 for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for The Importance of Being Earnest. In 2005, Ms. Massey was given the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II.
