Herge (Georges Remi) created the iconic Tintin in 1929, who went on to sell over 160 million copies worldwide. He died in 1983, but his work lives on, inspiring the Herge museum (opened in 2009) in his native Belgium, a Steven Spielberg-directed motion-capture blockbuster in 2011, and a record-setting auction ($1.6 million for a single drawing) in 2012.
