Kopuwai the monster had the body of a man and the head of a dog and was accompanied by a pack of five fearsome dogs with double heads. One day Kopuwai captures the winsome Kaiamio and instead of eating her, he keeps her as a slave.
Based on a Maori legend from the South Island, this is the story of Te Kapo, half man, half Taniwha, who calls on the gods to give him special powers to help save the land. His wish is granted, but he does not stop to think about one of the conditions.
