By Brady, Dr Howard Thomas
Mirrors and Mazes: a guide through the climate debate (2nd Edition: May 2017) has been written as a popular yet thorough summary of the main problems in the climate debate. The author took great pains to write this book for non-scientists and this is the 2nd Edition. Indeed durin...g its writing sections were given to non-scientists and journalists for their suggestions. Often the author uses stories and humour to explain difficult concepts. The book was written by an Australian scientist who worked in Antarctica on four mainland expeditions under grants from the United States Office of Polar Programs. In 2011 the author was awarded the Alumnus Scientist of the Year by Northern Illinois University for his contributions to climate research and the community. The author -Dr Howard Thomas Brady - is also a Member of the Explorers Club of New York. He is of the view that many misunderstand the debate and simply think it is just about carbon dioxide. In fact the debate is about many other factors that also affect climate. At the start of the book, the author invites the reader to enter the world of the climate debate. He explains that it is like entering a maze or a hall of distorted mirrors, hence the title - Mirrors and Mazes; a guide through the climate debate.Read more
