Life on the straight and narrow is easier said than done for a pair of crooks like Jimmy Slash Braddock and Melvin Pecos Kid Baker. But these reprobates are doing their damnedest to make an honest go of it. They've m...anaged to safely deliver a church organ to a mountain parish when their sometime employer--Chief U.S. Marshal Luther T. Bleed-'m-So Bledsoe--recruits them for a job only fools would take. Marshal Bledsoe wants them to pick up a shipment of gold in the mining town in the Sawatch Mountains. Here's the catch: Slash and Pecos's wagon is just a decoy. When a ruthless gang ambushes the real gold shipment, it's up to Slash and Pecos to go after the trigger-happy bandits. And they won't be alone. A lady Pinkerton, Hattie Friendly--who is anything but--survived the ambush and is hellbent on getting the gold back. Even if she has to team up with a pair of ornery old cutthroats like Slash and Pecos. . . . The Cutthroats are back. The bad guys are history. Live Free. Read Hard.

The masters of American frontier storytelling return with the saga of a bold, fearless western legend. When you're a gun for hire, the difference between right and wrong is settled with a bullet... BUCKHORN Crater City, New Mexico, is a bustling mining town brimming with the sten...ch of men hungry to get rich the old fashioned way--killing the competition. Dennis Conroy is the owner of the biggest saloon in town, and he needs a few good sharpshooters to help protect surveyors laying out a route for a spur railine before his rival Hugh Thornton beats him to it. Joe Buckhorn's handy with a gun so he takes the job. Against his best advice, he'll also take a liking to the boss's daughter, which doesn't go over well with her father. Worse, Buckhorn starts wondering exactly what kind of man he's working for. Before the sun goes down much blood will be spilled and a lot of men will be blasted into the middle of next week. Joe Buckhorns aims to be sure he's not one of them.

This two-part commentary argues that Chronicles, placed as it is among the 'historical books' in the traditional Old Testament of the Christian church, is much misunderstood. Restored to its proper position as the final book in the canon as arranged in the order of the Hebrew Bib...le, it is rather to be understood as a work of theology essentially directed towards the future. The Chronicler begins his work with the problem facing the whole human race in Adam-the forfeiture of the ideal of perfect oneness with God's purpose. He explores the possibility of the restoration of that ideal through Israel's place at the centre of the world of the nations. This portrayal reaches its climax in an idealized presentation of the reign of Solomon, in which all the rulers of the earth, including most famously the Queen of Sheba, bring their tribute in acknowledgment of Israel's status (Volume 1). As subsequent history only too clearly shows, however, the Chronicler argues (Volume 2), that Israel itself, through unfaithfulness to Torah, has forfeited its right to possession of its land and is cast adrift among these same nations of the world. But the Chronicler's message is one of hope. By a radical transformation of the chronology of Israel's past into theological terms, the generation whom the Chronicler addresses becomes the fiftieth since Adam. It is the generation to whom the jubilee of return to the land through a perfectly enabled obedience to Torah, and thus the restoration of the primal ideal of the human race, is announced.
