Life loving 40-something La (Oscar nominee Berenice Bejo, The Artist) works in retail, and is happily married to Marc (Vincent Cassel), a conservative and somewhat insecure salesman. La has long been considered a dreamer by her know-it-all best friend Karine (the inimitable Flore...nce Foresti), who seems content enough with her advertising executive job and life with gentle giant Francis (Franois Damiens) and their two kids. But something is about to upset the intricate balance of this quartet. Over dinner one evening, La unexpectedly announces she is trying her hand at writing a novel, a declaration met with some bemusement; Marc is certainly unconvinced. Las burst of creativity triggers an apparently threatened Karine to pick up her own pen, and even Francis hilariously dusts off a long-abandoned artistic side. When Las book is picked up by a major publisher, great things seem assured if only her friends and husband can handle it. Those who enjoyed the Italian hit Perfect Strangers are sure to find this delicious tale of tested loyalties as equally winning. This is one to share with your own friends and partners; an opportunity to sit back and enjoy the sparks that fly on screen - and off.

Bold and dazzling, acclaimed writer/director Pietro Marcellos multi award-winning drama MARTIN EDEN provocatively transposes Jack Londons 1909 novel about a self-taught and outspoken writer out of the American West and into a pivotal moment in Italys pre-war history. Thirty-somet...hing sailor Martin Eden (remarkable newcomer Luca Marinelli) is inspired to remake himself as a novelist, following a chance encounter with the sophisticated, wealthy Elena (the luminous Jessica Cressy). She immediately becomes not only the object of his passionate affections, but also the symbol of the status Martin aspires to achieve. Pursuing his newfound social and literary obsessions, Martin abandons his friends and working-class roots without hesitation, but eventually undergoes a political awakening that triggers yet another change. A passionate and enthralling cinematic achievement in the tradition of Rossellini and Visconti, Pietro Marcellos enveloping and superbly-mounted fable interweaves historical footage with an extraordinary production design of his own. The films ideas are universal and timeless: the hypocrisy of class, the disillusionment of ideologies, the limits of romanticism and realism, and the question of what it means, ultimately, to be an individual.

THE CATALANOTTI METHOD - Carmelo Catalanotti was murdered by a stab to the chest, but this murder if only for the strange composure of the body and the absence of blood, immediately presents something strange. Montalbano soon discovers that the victim was a loan shark, albeit in ...a fair way or at least not particularly greedy. But Catalanotti was not just a usurer, he was above all a fervent and original theatre artist, soul and founder of Trinacriarte, a very active amateur theater company from Vigta. The Trinacriarte is not a simple amateur company, a good many of its members are literally possessed, if not possessed by the passion for the theater. Carmelo Catalanotti was the guru of this group, a guru who knew how to be brilliant, but also cruel and sadistic. So much so that Montalbano realizes that it is precisely in his tragic art and his very personal and disturbing Method in which the solution lies to the mystery of his death.
